Red Velvet was a hit. It wasn't originally intended as part of the shower desserts, but HEB didn't have any of our order ready when my mom went by to pick up our cupcake order. Apparently the order was accidently canceled by an employee who confused our order with someone elses cancellation and the manager did a lot of apologizing and offered us quite a few comps to apologize for the inconvenience. Despite the set back, the desserts turned out great for the shower.

This was the table with all of the desserts and the diaper cake that Aletha made.

From left to right: JD's great grandma plunkett, Sonoma (JD's grandma), Mitzi (JD's mom), me, Sharon (my mom), and Brenda (my step-mom. My mother and Mitzi were the ones who threw the shower for me. Aletha (my childhood friend's mom) also provided a really beautiful diaper cake and JD's Aunt Patsy made all of the coursages and gift bags given to the winners of the baby games.

Here was the gorgeous diaper cake made by Aletha. She even monogrammed a few of the items like a textured baby book so it included Donovan's name on it and a few other items. She did such a great job making it a special decoration for the shower, and we will have lots of diapers to use also. Also, she helped my mother set up the room and decorations for the shower before it started, so we really appreciate all the help she gave us.

We asked JD to be there around 3-3:30 so that we could have some extra hands to help us load the gifts and do some of the heavy lifting. The shower didn't actually end until after 4 so he was eating a quick bite out in the regular dining area of LaBrisa and watching the soccer game. Amanda happened to snap a quick picture of him.
