This is sort of a catch up blog. I haven't blogged since the beginning of the year and it doesn't take long for "life" to start happening. Last Tuesday, (February 3rd) Jd called me and said he wasn't feeling good and that he was going to head home. This was around 2:00p.m. It's about 3:00 and I get a call from one of his co-workers (on his cell phone) that JD's in a lot of pain and they are calling an ambulance to come pick him up from his place of business. He works over in Houston, and I in Galveston, so I started shutting everything down at work to get on the road. By now it's already getting close to rush hour traffic and everyone getting off work. I call JD's mom to let her know what's going on and she said she wanted to come with me to the ER. We get in the car and drive out to a hospital in North Houston. When we get there JD definitely doesn't look like he's feeling well. It was 4:45 by the time we got there. By now they have him doped up on pain medication and laying in his ER room waiting to see the doctor. After running several tests and a few doses of pain medication they determine they can't find anything from the tests they ran. To spare ourselves the expense and time we drive back down to our side of town this way we can see his GI doctor who knows more of his own history (in case it's relating to his colon). It was 11:30 before we made it home that night
For the rest of the evening he had no pain. The next day, he goes to see his GI doctor and discuss what happened the night before. His dr. decides to have him get an ultrasound to check his gallbladder. So the following day (thursday), he goes in for an ultrasound. Ultrasound technician says his gallbladder does not look normal and isn't operating normal. So now we wait for Monday (Feb. 9th). Another followup with GI doctor to review results. Dr. confirms that he needs to consult a specialist about his gallbladder. Most likely this week JD will have a consultation with the specialist and surgery will be set up for the end of this week, if not sooner. All in all, it's been one heck of a week and the weekend was way too short.
JD and I went and saw He's just not that into you and Taken at the movie theater. Both were pretty decent movies. Definitely had to have a few cocktails this weekend to unwind, and I also got to visit with one of my girlfriends and just have a casual girls night out. One of my big highlights for the weekend was finding some super cute red satin heels originally priced at $50 and marked down to $10. What a steal!!!
