(September events)

September marked my baby's 1st birthday. Boy, a year flies faster than you realize. I won't lie...year one was way more extreme than I expected due to the PPD. I'm now sitting at a year since being "diagnosed" and things are slowly getting back to some sort of feeling normal (whatever that is). The thing I hate the most about PPD is it robs you of all the times where you (should) be feeling happy or finding enjoyment in your new journey as a mom.

I couldn't have gotten through the first year of being a mom without my mom. God was merciful and allowed me to have the blessings of having my mother through this first year. On some level, i think he knew i would need her. My mom lost her mother as a young mother in her late 20's. I was approximately 10 months old and I can't imagine having to endure those times alone or without that type of guidance. My mother is a fighter and will always be some one I admire for her perseverance and ability to adapt. She deserves the best in life and I hope she can leave this world one day knowing just how much my brother and I really love her. September will always be a special month for me not just because of the birth of my son, but because he shares his birthday in the same month as my mother.

We celebrated her birthday this year at Fogo de Chao. If there's one thing we enjoy is dining together as a family. I'm grateful for the luxury of having most of my family close so we can be a part of each other's lives frequently. Here are some of the photos I took from that day.

Funny story about the fire truck: a kid (not mine) pulled the fire alarm. So this is why the truck showed up
I love my mom and the older I get, I really value these moments we share together and all the time we have with one another. It's a shame that it takes being middle aged before you really can appreciate what your parents truly sacrificed during your youth and theirs to provide the best life for you. Life surely does begin to fly by and once you've blinked your kids are grown. Live these moments like tomorrow is never promised.

Lots of family hugs and making memories,

Jenny

What a tease!

Well my hopes were high on getting caught up on my blog. I started blogging away last night trying to get familiar with Blogsy and what do ya know. It CRASHED!!!!! Dang it! Oh well.... It looks like until Blogsy app updates to fix the problem I'm gonna have to blog from Blogger on the iPad. Hopefully it won't take much longer so I can continue to get caught up.

Visit to see Nanny & Poppy (August 2012)

We try to visit my Dad and Brenda as often as we can. Since they are in Fort Worth, we only are able to visit about twice a year. This just so happened to be around my Dad's birthday so my brother, Donovan and I loaded up and drove to Ft. Worth. Here are some of the photos from that trip.

Yes! Your eyes do not deceive you. That is a giant watermelon behind my little guy. We thought the living room could use some new interior design. Haha!

Always clowning around

Josh never fails in the facial expressions when it comes to photos.

My sweet baby boy and I on our last morning before we headed back. Just watching a few early morning cartoons.

Catching up on August 2012

Trying to recall the last 5 months is daunting seeing as how I can barely recall anything I did the day before today. Mommy brain kinda sticks with you after pregnancy...or at least that is my excuse, haha! So this will probably just be photos with captions of what I can recall.

This is just an average day at Maw Maw and Grandpapaw's.

Denis (Grandpapaw) ended up in the hospital due to a minor set back, so we stopped by to cheer him up

Hello from "Blogsy"land

In an attempt to make my life easier in the blogging world I tried to find an app that is more user friendly for blogging from my "I" devices. Ultimately it would be awesome if I can blog from my IPhone, since that is how I take most of my photos these days. Sadly, Blogsy isn't supported by the iPhone (only IPad). And since I'm never able to get on my MAC desktop....and I DO mean NEVER, I downloaded this app to try it out so I can blog while my little guy plays in the living room, which is where we spend all of our time in the evenings.

If all goes right, I should be able to get SEVERAL photos up that I am extremely behind on. So bare with me if my posts look a little crazy while I try to figure this app out.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and are having a great New Years Eve as we bring in 2013.

Lots of love and prosperity to everyone in the coming year,

Jenny

Back in the swing of things

To my audience (however small that might be), I deeply apologize for the lack of participation in updates or new posts.  I took a mini vaca from blogging.  I was in a bit of a funk (PPD) from updating about life and posting on FB.  I just didn't keep up much with either.

I've got lots to catch up on since July (Holy Cow! where does the time go???), so i will try and do my best to update soon with events that have happened and photos i've taken.  For now,  I hope you all are doing well and are in good health.  Enjoy life to the fullest because it's so very short.

Happy Monday all!
Jenny

Weekend Family Time

Because July 4th falls on a Wednesday, our family had their annual 4th of July party at my in-laws like we always do.  My FIL, Robert cooked some awesome boiled shrimp, potatoes, & corn.  There was plenty of other food that was provided from family.  I made my usual....Deviled eggs.  Mitzi & Robert live on the water, so it's always a fun gathering (especially when the weather is nice).  It was overcast that day but we had a great breeze.  Here are some of the photos I got of JD, Donovan, and I.

These were some of the other photos that day.
