Weekend Adventure to Nanny & Poppy's

We made our very first LONG car trip with Donovan to go see family this past week.  Dad lives in Lake Worth, just outside of Fort Worth so it took us about 6 hrs to get there with Donovan.  Normally a trip like that with just me takes about 5 but we had to stop a couple of times to let him stretch his legs and change his diaper.  Here are some pics from our trip...

Josh sat in the back seat to help me out in case Donovan started to fuss.

Donovan had it made. Portable DVD player and mommy feeding him his bottle while Uncle Josh drove.

 We were actually stopped so don't panic.  I don't drive with him outside of his car seat.  This was us stopped at Buccee's while the boy's stretched their legs.

Finally made it to Nanny and Poppy's and Donovan spent the mornings with Poppy watching Sponge Bob episodes on the computer.

Everyone pulled late nights staying up and watching movies and visiting, except Mommy and Donovan. This is Uncle Josh sleeping on the floor.  Donovan tried to wake him up but he sleeps like a log. 

This was St. Patty's day.  The outfit that my mom bought Donovan was actually too small for him already...he's growing too fast so they fit him like capris.  We left him in it long enough for photos and then changed him into something comfortable.

Unlce Josh and Poppy were loading the car, so Nanny put her singing voice to work and lulled Donovan into sleep since he was getting restless.  I think it worked... =)

We all had a great time catching up and visiting because we don't get to see each other but a few times a year because of the distance.  Last time they got to see him was when he was born and boy has he grown!  We will be back up soon and he will be a few months older so hopefully the older he gets the better he does on long trips. Mommy isn't ready to fly with a baby yet! Haha...
