Father's Day 2011

This past weekend flew so fast with all that i had to do. Friday i thought i would be pro-active and make my way to Target to get baby shower gifts and Father's day presents. I think i must have been in target about 3 hours. The Father's day card aisle was impossible to get to so i picked up all of my registry items first for the shower i would be attending on Saturday. Before target i had picked up some gift certificates to the Arm's Room Gun range for some of the dad's who like to go shooting every once in a while. JD, his Dad and Denis would be going to the range Sunday morning.

Finally i made my way to the card aisle once it had died down and picked up the last items on my list, made my way to check out and finally on my way home. Boy i was tired and that's just a couple of hours on my feet.

Sunday i had planned on making a nice lunch so the menu called for Gumbo, Roast, potato salad, and some Banana pudding that was to die for (Paula Deen recipe). I was really tired by the time i slowed down to eat a bite and the rest of the evening was reminicent of Thanksgiving. Belly was stuffed and i wasn't even hungry until 8 or 9 p.m. All of the food put me in a small coma to where a nap was required. 2-3 loads of dishes later in the evening it was time for bed.

I didn't get to spend the day with my Dad, but we did enjoy a lengthy conversation on the phone along with my brother. We also figured out skype so now Josh is only one left to get set up so we can all video chat if necessary in the future.

I hope all the daddies had a wonderful Father's day. This was JD's first unofficial "soon-to-be" father's day. I got him a gift card to the gun range and a special card as well.
